GOOD FOOD AND HOBART SUNDAY AND NICHOLAS

Several of you mentioned that 2nd Man would probably have some good food waiting for me when I got back into town on Friday...

...and he did not disappoint, ha!  He fried up some chicken tenders, made some mashed potatoes with homemade gravy and lest you all worry about us having vegetables, there was an awesome salad on the side too, ha.  It was all so wonderful...as usual.

It's funny, we were talking the other night and realized we haven't been to a restaurant in well over a year, but then when we see these pictures and look back at our meals, I don't think we're missing out on anything, ha.

And here is Hobart of course!  One night he was laying on the arm of the couch as he kept an eye on things.

Or maybe it was just that I was in the kitchen, it was close to feeding time and he was keeping an eye on ME!

And here we go...Tropical Storm Nicholas is on the way. It shouldn't make it to a hurricane so that's good and this probably won't be a big wind event but the big worry, as usual, is rainfall.  They say anywhere from 4 to 12+ inches of rain.  If it's spread over a couple of days, that's OK, we can handle that.  I'm guessing no mowing NEXT weekend!

  1. YUM! My thoughts exactly Hobart. It does look delicious.
When a person has good looking meals like that, who needs to eat out, plus look at the money your are saving.
Heavy downpours are the worse but receiving a nice gently rain over a few days would be wonderful.
Right now we actually could use some rain here. I have been having to water, plus we drained our stock tanks and cleaned them up so they are actually empty at the moment until we get some rain. We do have a slight chance early in the week but that doesn't mean that we will get some here.
The other day about 1/4 mile away it was pouring down but we didn't get a drop. (it didn't last for very long cause about a mile down the road it was dry) Now that is what is called scattered showers.
You both have a wonderful evening.

    1. Yes, we have saved a lot by not eating out (and maybe saved ourselves from being sick). I think you might get some of this rain. We've been watching the storm closely. We laugh about rains like that, we get them all the time at the farm. One day we were driving out, it was pouring, we debated turning around. Got the farm, bone dry, had never rained a drop. Weird how weather works in strange ways like that. Stay tuned to the weather the next few days.

We should all be so lucky to be blessed with a live in chef! LOL

    1. Yep, he was definitely keeping both on me, ha. And he was holding on in case the couch flipped over, LOL! Thank you, 2nd Man does keep us well fed for sure.

  3. Dear Two Men, I feel for you both with the uncertain approach of the tropical storm and the damage it may do to the farm. I send you my best hopes for a safe outcome. And how did your clean up on Friday go? A report would be welcome. Roderick

    1. Thank you Roderick! As always you are kind to check on us. We'll be fine, we're kind of used to it but it does get old after a while, ha. I will have an update tomorrow. It was pretty good.

    1. We really haven't been out to eat in 18 months. We only picked up "to go" food once since then too. It's just easier and safer (and just as good, ha) to eat here. Not sure how much of it will hold together but you might get some rain.

  6. If you are ever in Atlanta and eat at Mary Mac's you will find potatoes and gravy and Mac and cheese and all kinds of other non traditional dishes are called veggies!
2nd Man makes delicious looking food all the time.

    1. You know, Atlanta is on our list of places to visit someday. I have a folder on my laptop where we put in places we someday want to see, visit etc from things we see on TV or someone recommends. I'll have to add this. Thank you! And thanks for the kind words. He'll read them.

  7. With meals like y’all have, who needs restaurants?! There’s Hobart, making sure he gets his din-din also!
The path of the storm is coming right over my area. It looks like there will be lots of rain. Hopefully the winds will not increase any more. But I’m prepared and my house has never flooded.
    Y’all stay safe!
