CITY TO COUNTRY REALITY SERIES

A friend of the farm recently sent this to us.  She saw it and thought of us.
(Thank you!!!  We love when people see something and think of us)

We certainly fit the bill for the show.  We would definitely call our farm a weekend getaway, a Summer (and all other seasons) sanctuary, a second home...and we'd even add future retirement and bug out location to the description.  However, we and Seda Bolsa, are not ready for our closeups, LOL.

Not sure if this show will become a hit or not (we'll certainly watch when it debuts) but if it is a hit, well, who knows, maybe there will a reality show in our future.  We'd have to give it a lot of thought and of course the most important aspect would be to see how they portray the people on the show.

What about you all?
Would you ever want to appear on something like this?
If any of you do sign up, tell 'em we sent you, we don't get anything but maybe it will score us points later on, ha.

  1. I think you have made the right descision, I wouldnt want the public knowing when my home would be unoccupied, what equipment I have there, if it is to be used as a bug out location you do not want to expose it to the public, There is no way I would take part in anything like that.

    1. Great point!!! We didn't think about that aspect.

  2. The problem over here with shows like that is that they love to make the people involved look either dumb or hicks, it seems to be how TV works in England. If the show turns out to be well done with sympathetic hosts etc then it would be good. Very wise to wait and see. Mind you, I'd enjoy watching you on TV :)) xx

    1. Oh so true, reality TV is not so reality at times is it? Won't stop us from watching of course, ha. And you are too kind by the way. I'd like to see you on a singing show, you would blow them away. ;-)

  3. It sounds like your place, and the pair of you, would be perfect. Travelling the sort of journey that would make good television but I agree with the comments above. Caution, caution, caution!!! If the show is a hit, it will be there again next season.

    1. Yes, weI'd definitely want to see how it looks when it makes it to tv and how the people would be portrayed.

  4. Wait and see how season 1 goes. Also these production crews can film for days and somewhat disrupt your life. Let's just say I know producers who have taught me a lot.

    1. It would be a disruption to daily life huh? Gosh, you'd probably have to take vacation time to be around to film. Ha, it's probably like if you like hot dogs, you should watch them being made? LOL!

  5. 1st Man,

I would stay out of the lime light, keep the farm location quiet. Especially with the way the economy is going. You don't want people knowing your farm isn't occupied full time, leaving it open as a potential target.

  6. This actually a comment on your previous post where I was reading about your roof. I'm a commercial carpenter that has been in the business for over 20 years, please get more than one estimate on your roof; I always recommend 3. You will be amazed at the price difference. Most people always take the first estimate and often end up with poor work or getting ripped off. I have a metal roof on my house (galvalume) and really like it. Metal is not that much more than shingles and with some shingles, may be the same. I really enjoy your blog by the way!

    1. Thank you very much for the suggestion. You brought up a great point and we called another person today that's going out this week and then we'll get another one this weekend. Thank you!!

Metal seems like the big recommendation, glad to know it won't be too much more (at least I hope). Thanks for the kind words about the blog, appreciate it!!
