DIRECTIONAL SIGN POST, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday, we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm.
Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

Today, it's a THREE picture post of inspiration.  Growing up, we were fans of the TV show MASH and they always had the iconic "sign post" showing how many miles it was to their hometowns.  Apparently it's a popular thing now, and we'd LOVE to do something like this on the farm.

So above is one done with actual cities and vacation destinations...and of course a liquor store, ha!!!

...this one is done with areas around a property with games, etc.  It would be fun to do with places around the farm, "garden", "barns", "chickens", "pond", "dewberry patch", "bees", etc.  (someday!)

Or, we could throw caution to the wind and do something like this awesome signpost, and put arrows pointing toward fantastical places from favorite books and movies.

Be inspired!

  1. Well, I raised my children on MASH since I was an adult as the show played. However, I, too, have always wanted a sign for my yard.

  3. I'm ever for the last one. I've always wanted one of those and it would be quite easy to do given the time. Maybe a winter project?

  5. I have used old fence boards and have done several signs throughout the yard but some are so badly faded that you can hardly read them anymore.
Guess I need to repaint or make new ones or both.
I use A lot of OOPS paint that I get at Home Depot;$00.50 for 8oz containers; a bit more for the larger containers they have. I think a quart is $2.00, a gal. I think is around $5.00 which is mostly Behr paints.
