RETRO RED GARDEN SEATING AREA INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday, we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm.
Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

My Grandparents (on both sides) had these chairs all the time outside and around their house.  We love this red color and there is something soothingly retro about these chairs.  We'll have to to some online research to find some that can be "reasonably" shipped, ha.

And we understand these have to be kept in shady areas, lest we end up with third degree burns on our arms and legs!

Be inspired!

    1. The red is SO pretty against the greens. I will DEFINITELY post when we find someplace with them (for a reasonable price, ha).

  2. These would look great in a nice, SHADY spot, as you said.
I love the red, purple, and yellow flowers among all the greenery - and the tree stump as a table.

  3. My in-laws had these same chairs (I do remember putting a towel on them before sitting when the sun was out) They moved to a smaller garden home and the chairs did not move with them. Bummer because I would love them at the lake place.

    1. LOL a towel makes perfect sense. They do have some neat memories with them don't they?

  4. Look at Amazon -- under "Crosley Furniture" -- red metal patio chairs $59 each -- might work!

  5. I bought chairs and a glider at our local farm store a few years ago. I think that type of store still might carry them. You can also buy cushions that fit them. We moved so I gave them away but they are still in use.

    1. Oooh, a farm type storm might be great...didn't think about that. A feed store, something like that. Thank you!

    1. As I recall (from my childhood, ha) I remember them being comfortable too. White is a great color. I think my grandparents had a white "glider" type as well.

  9. I found mine at flea markets: one here, another there, and all different colors with robin's egg blue and green being the most common.

  10. I have looked at new ones like this. The problem is the arms are too slope-y and too short (from elbow to hand) to rest your arms. I would prefer to have the old ones like Mary A. said.

We had some of these when I was very young.

    1. I bet the new ones aren't quite the same are they? Nothing seems to be as good as the original ha.
