RANDOM FRIDAY HAPPENINGS

A couple of weekends ago, I had to send the Zen Machine to the dealer for maintenance (an annual thing) plus he had a few issues, time for new blades and the wiring harness was getting worn and not charging the battery.  They have free pick up and delivery so I pushed it to the driveway (it wouldn't start, the wiring issue) and then left it for them to pick up the next day.

Then it rained and the grass grew, and grew...

Thankfully, here it is back home yesterday!
My boss let me take off to meet the delivery people there so I could let them in and get the Zen Machine back.  New blades, tuned up, washed and they even filled up the tank with fuel.  It's like a new machine!

But alas, the picture of the Zen Machine before this one was taken at ground level...I pointed the camera up and this was the sky overhead.

Storms were coming soon!

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
And this was on my desk at work.  One of my sweet coworkers brought this from her yard.  It's a branch of flowers from her Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow bush at home.  She said it is huge and covered in flowers. The plant gets its name from the fact that the flowers change color daily, and all are blooming at varying times so the plant ends up with all the colors on it at the same time.

Wow, do they ever have have a scent too!
Might be nice to have some of these at the farm.

Nice that you got your Zen all up and running and ready to do it's duty now.
Beautiful flowers. Did she say what those where? Curious mind wants to know.
Our yard needs mowing once again. It really shot up after the little showers we had especially after our first mowing.
Enjoy your weekend. More rain coming in this weekend.
Oh, I have strawberries blooming and berries setting on. :}

I thought that was a new zen machine. The house is shaking in the wind today and it is cold. So much for working outside. And, it is to go down to 27 degrees the next few nights. So much to do. That is a beautiful flower. Gardenia type leaves. Let us know if you find out.

Thanks for reminding me we need to get Babette (our name for our Zen Machine) tuned up and ready to go. The lake place property is not looking so hot after a winter of virtual neglect.

1st Man,

Yay.....The Zen Machine is back home and purring like a kitten!
We're going to Home Depot or Lowe's today to get all the materials to service our tractor then it's cutting grass time and weed whacking.
Have a great day!

LOVE that plant. And would like it here. I may investigate and see whether it is available in Oz.
Hooray for the return of Zen.

Those flowers are pretty. I've never heard of them before. Gosh I love flowers! I jump for joy for a few weeks each spring when the lilac tree blooms! I'm glad you got your Zen Machine back! We have a smallish yard, so for now, the old lawnmower does the trick, but I hope one day to have enough land that I'll need my own Zen Machine :) Enjoy your Friday, hope the storm passes!

I have one growing. A shoot was given to me by a friend when we moved nearly 17 years ago
I love seeing the different colours.

Wow, your Zen Machine looks brand new! Ready for another season of hard work.

That's a beautiful picture of the Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow flowers. I have one and love it - and it's very easy-care.
Looks like a rainy Saturday coming up.

The Yesterday Today and Tomorrow flowers are very pretty and the perfume is amazing
BUT
They are really bad for anyone with asthma....sinus problems or hayfever, I get a headache and my sinus gets bad if I am near it for a while.

I never have heard of that flowering bush. What a lovely name.

Yep, it's ready to roll (or is that mow? ha). The flower is actually called "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow flower". I think the technical name is "Brunfelsia".

I don't like this much rain I'd rather have it spread out, ha.

LOL, it always looks new afterwards, plus I do try to keep it clean during the season. I saw the crazy cold weather your direction, you be safe and stay warm! The plant is technically called Brunfelsia but it really does go by Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow plant (or flower).

Lots to do this season for sure.

Babette, love it! I should have mowed sooner because of our warmer weather but it wasn't starting so I had to get it fixed first. It's ready to go now, ha.

Like a kitten! I do need to learn to service it. I can of course change oil and spark plugs and things like that, but this time we needed new blades, it wasn't starting for some reason related to the wiring, etc so I figured why not get it all done at once. Plus they have a special every year this time and it's free pickup and delivery so that makes life easy, ha.

It's actual name is Brunfelsia so check around you never know. I'd love to send you some but I'm guessing that would break all sorts of international laws, ha.

Ooh a lilac tree is SO pretty (and smells wonderful). They don't grow here but we have a tree that looks like one and is actually called a "Texas Lilac". I planted a few a couple of seasons back, I'll have to get some pics when they bloom. Thanks!!!

YAY!!!! Thanks for sharing that, I hope Elephant's Child reads this!! Thani you so much again.

They do give it a wash too which is nice. A little riding mower detailing, ha. Glad to know about the easy care, I'll have to look into getting one for the farm. It should grow in our clay soil. I bet the smell is strong on a big one.

I didn't know that, thank you for that. I will have to remember that for planting. I won't put it too close to the house so it doesn't bother future visitors. Thanks!!

Isn't the name great. I think that's for the three colors of flowers since they are all on there at the same time and it's as they age that they change. A great backstory huh? Thanks!!!
