Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm.
Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!
We're always looking at tables for outdoor options. We have enough spaces around we can have several different types. We saw this and though it was so pretty. The ironic thing is, about 8 years ago, we had a friend who had a large slab of granite that looked a lot like this, irregularly shaped, and they were offering it FREE to a "good home", ha. Sadly, we had NO use for it at the tine, even at the house we had no backyard and it was just something we couldn't have imagined ever needing. Sigh. We won't make THAT mistake again!
Anyway, this is very interesting and certainly would stand up to the elements outside, ha. We DO like the chairs around it too. Nice decorative element being a bit different from standard wooden chairs, but of course being metal means shady spot only. We have faith that the right table(s) will be there when we need them to be.
Be inspired!
Gorgeous. And, it won't rust or rot. Shade only will never happen. The Sun sets; the sun rises, leaves fall. It will never be perfect! You could have some thinnish cushions on a box on the porch for saving bottoms from the metal.
ReplyDeleteA man here makes cedar table that are not uniform, sort of the table in the picture but in wood, not stone.
I do love those chairs in the pictures.
One can never do enough recycling....I feel your pain about not taking that original table top that was offered. What a find!!

If that granite slab was a large piece, it would have been very heavy, much too heavy to move easily, and the support structure would have to be very sturdy to use it as a table. You have a knack for finding useful, interesting pieces, so I have no doubt you'll find the right table.
ReplyDeletei have a big limestone table with granite legs on my patio and i love it! the top is 10 inches thick. i designed it with the idea of covering it with a open pattern lace tablecloth and setting it with fine crystal and china.
ReplyDeleteThat is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is glorious.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table
ReplyDeleteA rustic barn wood table I think would be great for your farm homested.
That is a great idea and will blend in so well with the Nature at your Farm.
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to stop by since your comment. Yes I do love me some apothecary jars. You have a good time coming up with ideas for them. I change mine every season, sometimes twice. I also have various sizes and switch them around so well. I have also used them in the bath to house various sizes of soaps for guest when there here. I have done several post on them. I am so glad you got such a great deal of them. Keep us posted, and thank you for stopping in dear. Drop in again 💋
