As this posts, I'll be off to the farm, solo. 2nd Man is working and besides, it's cold and wet here. Yesterday it was in the mid 80's during the day, last night it dropped close to the upper 30's.
This week it will be 50's and 40's. Pretty sure no mowing and really nothing to water but today I need to check on things after the storms that went through yesterday and start up the truck and drive it around.
I think we're in the cycle now where this is the start of our "Winter". Of course, we are often sweating at Christmas so it could be fleeting. Just hoping for no freezes, we haven't prepped the house yet.
I've got my jeans on and my flannel shirt and an extra t-shirt just in case I need it. That damp/wet cold is what goes through to our bones.
Or maybe we're just getting old...😁
We had a thin layer of ice on the bird waterers this morning.
ReplyDeleteWe did receive 1/2 of rain yesterday so it was wet and rather cold out here in the country with the wind blowing.
Have an enjoyable weekend & stay warm.
Thank you, hope you are staying warm!
DeleteThe morning here in S. Colorado started off at 17° ... brrrrr!!! We are to warm up to about 45° I think.
ReplyDelete17? OK we won't complain. Stay safe and warm.
DeleteHere in North/West/Central Texas we rode out the night in the 20's. It did not get above freezing until about 10. So, stay warm, dry and happy at a blistering 45 degrees.
ReplyDelete"Blistering" ha. Yes compared to 20's we are in a downright heatwave that you would probably gladly exchange, ha. Hang in there, stay warm and cozy.
Deleteit is cold and raining here and we might see our first snowfall next week.
ReplyDeleteDid y'all ever get snow? It's still cold here and was rainy today it's sunny and nice, still chilly. Be safe!
DeleteWednesday it was 80 degrees here. Today I woke to snow and 28 degrees. The rest of the week is supposed to be much of the same. I'm thankful to be home for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's often like our weather (except for the snow). We've got to work in the 80's and come home in the 30's. Amazing how weather can change like that. Stay in and stay safe and dry.
DeleteYour temperatures are almost exactly the same as ours and same as predicted here in AL. It is getting cold!
ReplyDeleteHope you are still staying warm.
DeleteHad a coat of frost on the yard this morning. The cold temperatures along with the freeze took care of my canna's (no longer green) so it's time to cut them way down.
ReplyDeleteOnce done blooming, it's the green leaves that nourish the rhizomes / bulbs; once they turn brown it's time to cut the canna stems down.
The sun is actually out this morning and no wind as yet. Chilly, but not too bad out with the sun warming things up.
Nascar is done for the season, so guess will be watching Green Bay & the Cowboys play today.
You guys have a wonderful and relaxed day.
Frost, yep Winter is here for sure. We already miss it too, but it'll be back in Feb and that will be here before we know it. Did you watch that series on USA Network? Race for the Championship? If not, look for it. They followed from before the season all the way to the end and have such cool behind the scenes stuff. It's like a reality series about NASCAR.
DeleteNo cable and no satalite, unable to watch USA Network but they did show it on regular channel. Heck of a race it was even tho my favorite driver didn't win
DeleteI was out in my garden when it blew in and it was quite the temperature change - from summer to cold, wet winter. It is definitely the start of Soup Weather!
ReplyDeleteSoup weather, ah, our favorite season!! :-) Enjoy
