Now this is cute AND funny.
I have to share a story that I can relate to with this. I friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, decided to build a raised bed a few years ago. This person told me all about it, was so excited, said they built a 4x4 bed. I thought that was a great start and so I asked what they planted.
Their list was just about as long as the one above. Tomato seeds, pepper seeds, cucumber seeds, radishes, and about six different herbs. All in a 4x4 bed. Hey, at least they tried, that's what matters, right? They ended up with nice tomatoes and some herbs but not much else.
Anyway, I thought this was funny, hope you enjoy!

I want to be anonymous because I've been known to be guilty of that, ha. Too funny! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHa, I think we all have been guilty of that at some point!
DeleteI'm definitely guilty of that - I cram as much as possible into my beds - combining onions, tomatoes and basil on one bed; planting radishes in the same place as carrots because they grow in 1 months so by the time I harvest them carrots will just start to spread out. I also plant my cucumbers in the same bed as lettuces and bokchoy with cabbages because they'll be pulled out way before cabbages or cucumbers will grow enough to take all that space :)
ReplyDeleteHey, if it works, nothing wrong with it I suppose. I love that you think ahead like that, very efficient use of space. Awesome!!
DeleteCute! This reminds me of my first raised bed last year. It seemed so very small when I wanted to plant everything! I did enough research to realize that wasn't going to happen, and I built another bed to expand what I could grow. Speaking of...why does a 2x8 bed seem bigger than a 4x4 when they're both 16 sq ft??
ReplyDeleteOMG you're so right about the size...I never thought about but they are the same sq footage but seem so DIFFERENT. Never thought about that.
DeleteSounds like my urban farmstead big guy!
ReplyDeleteYour urban farmstead is way more impressive than that! You have room for tons of stuff!!
