Flower Garden, photo courtesy of Southernliving.com garden forum |
In the dog days of Summer, it's nice to see color. We've always liked alliums, and I believe that's what there are in this photo? Along with other flowers and leafy plants of course. We need to see if they'll grow in these parts, the look they give in a garden is always so stunning. Anyone grow them?
They always reminded me of something from a Dr. Seuss book. This garden setting looks a bit woodland to me, might be something to work on someday for the woodland area we had cleared (which unfortunately is growing up with grassy weeds, which will just have to happen until it cools down again).
I'll catch up on comments soon, been working some late nights and there's not enough hours to get some down time.
Be inspired!
Love allium. Have always loved those mass plantings too, English garden style, but I wonder how they clean them out with all the leaves. Must have to by hand and rakes would tear them out. Our place is so wooded, with trillions of leaves, they would mound around them. Must hire help is the only answer I can think of.
ReplyDeletei used to have alliums and loved them but they didn't love me and they left.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inspiration. I love greenery too and have hosta and striped grass.
ReplyDeleteI grew them for the first time last year. I adore them---easy, carefree. This year? --well, they disappeared. Must not have liked their location............
