DUCKS COME TO VISIT

Noticed some new (albeit temporary?) residents on a neighbor's property...

At first I just saw some white movement in the distance and wasn't sure what it was.  Then with the camera zoom (above) I was able to see ducks!

Ducks
I swapped out the telephoto lens and zoomed way in and captured them in all their beauty.  There were only three of them but they hung around together everywhere they went.

Ducks on water
I noticed that there is a little pond back there and I'm sure that is why they were hanging around.  I asked 2nd Family if they knew if these neighbors had ducks and they didn't think so.  We're not sure if they were just passing through, I'll see if they are back again next time we're out there.  Makes me wonder if someday, after we have a pond dug, will we get our own ducks?

Anyone ever have temporary duck visitors like this?

  2. Ducks on a pond make such a peaceful scene.
Another bit of tranquility for y'all to look forward to when you have your own farm pond.

  5. they are lovely but where did they come from,,,,, they are tame ducks so someone must have them close by, when your pond is dug maybe they will move into your property, they certainly look healthy!
I wonder if they are young ducks on the loose!

    1. I would love to see some little ones. We're not sure where they came from...lots of farms around ,perhaps they were just stopping off for a drink and some relaxation and then moved on, ha. Thanks!!

  6. 1st Man,

They look like someone's pets or farm animals. Probably a neighbor....

    1. We wondered that too. They were healthy and obviously not wild. I wonder how many times they just come and visit when we're not there? Ha!

  7. Pekins... not a wild duck. They are lovely, and I loved keeping ducks for years. Make sure you have somewhere for them to duck their bills and clean themselves if you don't have a pond! :-)
