Remembering a dark day in our nation's history...
Bless the families and friends of all who were affected...15 years ago today...
I lost one of my Grandfathers on this day, sadly he had a heart attack while watching the live coverage...so I remember him on this day every year as well and miss him...
Thank you also to all military and first responders who put your lives on the line every day as part of your job to protect us...
I hope the joy of good memories eases the pain of your loss. (hugs)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Time does heal, that's for sure.
DeleteThat is so sad. I wonder how many people like him died of heart attacks from the horror. Maybe he was thinking of December 7 and Pearl Harbor. This is a doubly sad day for you, yet you have good memories for this day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's something when I tell people they say they never thought about that aspect. Turns out, the coroner in the county where my grandfather passed away said they had 3 that day in his area, all elderly.
DeleteWell said that man
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you for that John! Hugs across the miles!
DeleteCannot believe it has been fifteen years. So much sadness that day.
ReplyDeleteI have NO idea where that time went, it flew by. Yes, still sad, all this time later.
DeleteSo sad that you lost your dear grandpa on an already terrible day.

Awww, thanks for that. Yes, it's weird, in retrospect, when I watch these moments, I only remember the day of, I forget the days after because I didn't get to see much of it on TV. We had to get up to Oklahoma, plan a funeral, deal with his house, etc. It's all a blur.
DeleteMy heart aches for everyone who lost someone that day. And for nations who lost their innocence. And confidence.
