RAINY DAY, POST WEDDING, NO FARM VISIT, CONGRATS ASTROS

Woke up to this heading our way.  And it rained until about noon.  Heavy rain too.  Since yesterday was a wedding, and today was rain, didn't make it to the farm.  But what I really needed to do was water everything and that's been taken care of naturally!

But the weather was perfect yesterday for 2nd Man's nephew's wedding.  It was outdoor at their house.  And yep, their yard backs up to this wonderful lake.  Makes us wish for the day when we can have something like this at the farm (there's a natural pond site that will be expanded).  It was a lovely ceremony and they both looked amazing, the sun was shining through the trees and the lace was billowing in the breeze...so pretty!

Loved their vintage lace theme. This old Pepsi bottle was on our table. I need to find some on eBay, maybe an assortment of vintage soft drink bottles and have them at the farm.

The colors were pretty too...

And this was at the reception in the front yard.  The sound was so wonderful.  The sound of tricking water is so relaxing, it even feels cooling on a hot day.

So no farm this weekend, time to stay in town and do some more daydreaming...and eating good food, ha!

Houston Astros World Series
And oh yeah...our hometown team the HOUSTON ASTROS are World Series bound!!!!!

Amazing final two games.  We live a few blocks from the stadium where there will be a World Series in a few days!  Alas, tickets start at $750 so...no games for us, but we'll go visit outside and the nearby park and celebrate with all the other fans, what hopefully will be a victory.  But either way, from a last place team a few years ago, to reaching the pinnacle of baseball, after the terrible events here just a few weeks ago, Houston needed this.

Hope you are having a good weekend, what's left of it of course.

    1. Thanks!! Yep, it really has lifted the mood in the city. We went outside last night when it ended and you could hear car horns and people cheering and yelling, it was fun.

    1. Hey John! Yep, it was the little details that were so nice. Weather was a bit warm but it was a nice day. Thanks for stopping by! (side note, just watched TWD season premiere....I'll await your review so I don't spoil anything).

  4. Since you are in Texas you have to get some vintage Dr. Pepper bottles! I love the way they used the bottles as table decor. Going to have to start looking for some for the lake place.
I wanted the Astros to beat the Yankees, so well done Astros

    1. LOL! For Houston that team would be the Texans. Of course we just lost a couple of our best player to injury so not holding out much hope for a good season but we'll see.

  6. 1st Man,
Glad to hear you had nice weather for a family members wedding. We had storms last night. A tornado came down right in the place where we store the RV, by the Riverwind Casino. Luck for us the tornado just missed our storage unit. We checked it out late last night.

    1. Hi there and its as nice, though a bit warm. Ironically today after the storms rolled through it's getting so cool.

I didn't hear about a tornado, wow. So glad y'all didn't lose anything at the storage unit. And definitely glad y'all have a shelter at your house. Be safe!!!

  7. Perfect timing for the wedding, before the rain today. What a beautiful setting for it. I love that lace as the wedding backdrop.
It was so nice and cool outside this afternoon. That front was so welcome after the heat and humidity yesterday. I was working in my garden and I was literally dripping from the heat.
    Go ‘Stros!

    1. Yes, the rains today would have not made for good outdoor wedding weather. though the cool weather this afternoon would have been amazing, ha. We got about an inch and a half at the farm so that's nice.

      Go 'Stros!!!!!!!!!

  8. love them old soda bottles as well as that beautiful fountain.
We also received 1 1/2 inches of rain yesterday. The thunderstorms started about 2:15AM and then the rains came but let up later on in the morning; actually close to noon.

    1. Yep it rained here most of the morning until lunchtime-ish. Still too wet to go out there (and late in the day so at least things got watered ha). Old bottles are cool. And yes the sound from the fountain was amazing.

  9. We dig old pop bottles like this out of the "farmer dumps" from generations passed on our property - I would never have thought someone would want this garbage, but anyone who feels like lending a hand @ clearing them out are welcome to keep anything they fancy!

    1. LOL! I love it. Farmer dumps? There might be some fun stuff in there, ha. That's pretty neat, if I was close by I might dig up a few. I always wanted to be an archeologist, ha.
