MORE DISH TOWELS

Oops I did it again...

After I put up THIS POST last month, I found a few more dish towels at the store!

Vegetable dish towels
Carrots and radishes...

Garden theme dish towels
Corn and tomatoes...

These are really neat, pretty good size too.  They remind me of old seed packets or ads in vintage magazines/billboards.  Naturally, these were on sale too.  Oh and we still have PLENTY of room in that kitchen storage bench!

2nd Man just smiled and said "those are nice".

I'm sure on the inside he was all "more towels seriously?"

He'll appreciate the plethora of towels someday.

  1. You find the most coolest items when it comes to towels.
Them are gorgeous and they would surely be pretty framed in weathered wood and hung on your farmhouse wall.
I think we all need to go shopping with you.

    1. I never thought about framing them. Of course we have little empty wall space left, ha, so we'll just use them. Come on down, we'll hit up all the bargain places I know about, ha. Actually these were also at Kroger, they seem to rotate the towels in and out frequently so they are always getting some new ones in. Then they usually lower the ones that are going away.

  2. You can never have too many towels. Dish towels like that aren't just good for drying things. They can also be used to cover bread dough that's rising. And they're decorative. I applaud your purchase and give it my hearty approval.

    Love,
    Janie

  3. Someone is going to have to do a lot of dishwashing after someone cooks to use all those lovely dishtowels.

    1. LOL! For all the great food I get, I wouldn't mind washing on occasion, ha. And the farm doesn't have an actual dishwasher.

  5. I agree with Janie. I put a pretty dishtowel or napkin over the food I take to share at party or potluck. I was thinking those are pretty enough to display. An easy way would to be to mound multiple "clothes lines" on the walls of the kitchen and take some of the tiny clothes pins meant for crafts and hang the towels up for everyone to see. What brand are those towels, if you will share?

    1. Oh that's a great idea too, covering food at parties and such. And what a cute idea of the clothes lines I understand exactly what you mean. Thanks!! I do not know what brand, from memory, but I will look this weekend (well, even though this is Friday's post, I didn't go THIS weekend so the following, ha). I'm sure it's just generic something, I bought them at Kroger grocery store and they never have brands that I'd recognize but I'll still look for ya!

  9. Dish towels have many uses even the well worn ones. We try to use them rather than paper towels for a lot of things.

  10. Just to name a few ideas for old and new Tea Towels
When dish towels are worn out; use them as a rag for a particularly dirty job and Don't throw it out, wash them again and again.

They can be used whenever and wherever you otherwise use paper towels in the kitchen and around the house. They're wonderful for cleaning windows because they don't leave paper lint.

Use for wrapping veggies that are stored in the fridge only because I don't care much for using plastic wrap or containers. The washed greens are loosely wrapped in a towel and put into the crisper.

The towel absorbs the excess moisture, allows breathing room for whatever is inside, and keeps the veggies fresh.

Instead of using a salad spinner, spread the washed lettuce on a towel, roll it up loosely and holding the two ends, shake the towel around.

The fridge crisper drawer is lined with a folded up towel. Once a week or so, it gets shaken out and replaced. No more washing the crispers for me because they're always clean.

( For me but not used this way by everyone )  I've used them with my daughters when they where babies, grandchildren as a bib, spit up cloth, baby wipe or emergency diaper.

Keeping one in the car under the driver seat is handy. When I'm stopped at a red light I grab the cloth and quickly dust the dashboard; cleaning while waiting  :}  No texting for me

They're really handy when I'm doing my canning, especially if you're working with red beets or tomatoes and don't have to worry about staining your good towels.

If you have a dog, they are great for a foot wipe when your dog comes in from outside on a wet day.

I don't like to use plastic much, especially with food. When preparing food in advance for my guests, I cover the serving dish with a damp tea towel. This works well too for sandwiches made in advance of lunchtime, keeping them fresh.

A dry towel is useful for covering baked bread, cookies, muffins, etc when they come out from the oven and need to be cooled before putting them into a container. The towel protects them from dust and household flies.
They can serve as huge napkins when you're eating something messy like lobster or ribs.

Covering  food while eating outside or on a picnic keeps bugs at bay and they're also handy for sitting on so you don't get your clothes dirty from sitting at a public picnic table.
In place of wrapping paper; A pretty unused towel also makes for a wonderful gift wrap around a gift

New T Towels are great to put in  guest bathroom to use as hand towels.

Use as placemats and / or napkins

Lining a Tea try / cart

Line a bread basket to keep bread and rolls warm

I even used tea towel so make thro pillow covers
