COVERED POTTING BENCH INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

A covered potting bench?

Yep.  Who knew that was a possibility.  How cool is this?  It could be nice to have a potting bench covered somehow.  Shade in the hot summer.  Protection from a soaking rain.  Keep the tools and supplies somewhat protected.

Another something for the possible plan list, ha.

Be inspired!

  1. That is super cool and Oh, the possibilities.
Bottom of the garden bench could be enclosed to store a bag of potting mix, etc. and could have drawers mounted to store small items, plant tags, etc.
For garden tools and pair of garden gloves, mount an old mailbox to store them in.
Depending on size of work / garden bench a person could put in a small sink on one end.
If you didn't want to use as potting bench could also be used as an entertainment / beverage party area by keeping essential party items nearby; ice buckets for beverages. Stock the potting bench with silverware, glasses, napkins—anything that you would normally be running into the house to grab for guests
Could go to Goodwill store / thrift store and buy an old entertainment center; (have also seen entertainment centers at HFH) and transform that into potting/ garden bench area and or/ outdoor entertainment center for beverages, food or whatever when having an outside gathering.

  5. What a neat and pretty place! It sure is better than the boards-over-cinder blocks that was my potting-puttering spot.

  7. I have a whole pin board of potting bench inspirations. If I ever make up my mind I'll have the Amish build me one out of Trex to match our lawn furniture!
Which I'm sure will be $$$
