Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!
This is something we've thought about doing (further down the road) . Since the house just sits at the back of the property, behind it we have the fruit trees and some plans for the area. But the front, well, there is a huge, empty front yard.
So, we've given thought to sectioning off, or maybe making a small "official" front yard and doing something like this. It would give us defined planting areas and something to work out from, if that makes sense. It also could work well for the flower gardens we enjoy so much as well as herbs and edible flowers. Oh well, time will tell.
Be inspired!
Be still my heart!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou could put out a little guest cottage, too!
ReplyDeletethis is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteStunning. Now to add to it, add a little green house or small garden shed as shown in the picture along with a couple more climbing vines. Have a set of wicker chairs and table for sitting and relaxing. I do like that rustic looking chair sitting inside the flower bed. It just adds that little extra something to the area. Like that bird house in there as well.
ReplyDeletePlant a few native grasses for texture and those that have a vibrant color in the Fall. dwarf cannas, early blooming Spring flowers and blooming flower that will bloom through out the year and into Fall.
How lovely. ....such a beautiful view, perfect to incorporate a tiny guest cottage or 'Studio' a little alone time can be nice when you are both retired and home all the time.
