Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

We've posted some pics of flower theme gardens but I don't think we've ever seen one in all one color. This is all white and I think it's also known as a "moon garden" because the white flowers in the moonlight seem to take on a. glow of their own.
I have no idea what the flowers are, certainly not what all of them are but still the idea of putting together one flowerbed or one area with all white could be very pretty!
Be inspired!
Moon gardens are so pretty, made up of white flowers along with silver textured plants.
ReplyDeleteI think this is what some of the flowers are.
Feverfew
Impatiens
Snapdragons
Bell flowers
Phlox - David Variety
Dragon flower
Balloon Flower
Tulips (fringed 'Silver Wings' & white Triumphator
Achillea
Looks like a nice Yuccas in background
Hosta Crispula (curled Plaintain Lily
Dang, you are GOOD! Thank you.
DeleteReally pretty! And a cooling look in this heat.
ReplyDeleteMy mom always told me to include some white when planning a flower bed of other colors because it draws the eye.
Ooh I never thought about the "cooling" effect of seeing white color. Great idea and thanks!
DeleteI know that the garden in honor of Princess Diana at Kensington Palace has some white flowers that were her favorites, but I don't know if it's all white. A garden with one color would be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Awww, that's very neat to hear. LOVED Princess Di. Sigh. Such a loss. I bet it's lovely and I seem to recall something about her favorite flower and it was incorporated into the recent wedding. A single color garden is a neat idea. I can imagine all yellow!! Or all red! Or blues and purples. How pretty.
DeleteVita Sackville West created the first white garden (it also had plants with silver and variegated foliage) at her home Sissinghurst. She was quite an interesting person.
ReplyDeleteWell look at this we have learned the history of it. Wow, love that. I'm off to the google machine to learn about her. :-). Thank you!!!
Deletei did this for the first years when i created my gardens. it was so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWith your gardens I can only imagine how beautiful it was.
DeleteI love white gardens. But, I read they were out of date, like I care! Some day, I will have a white garden. Just look for bulbs and seeds that produce white flowers in your area.
ReplyDeleteha, I'm with you!! Can a garden really be out of date? If it's pretty and please our eyes, that's all that matters. You do your white garden too!! Don't let anyone tell you different. :-)
DeleteI always enjoy your blog. I have had a White Garden for years. I think they are fun and very interesting. Some photos at https://mylastact.blogspot.com/2018/05/beautiful-time-of-color.html. I have been having difficulty commenting. Hopes this works. Mary
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh welcome and thanks for commenting. It's not our blog it's a glitch with blogger. But this came through just fine. And I just visited your beautiful blog. I am adding you to our sidebar, not sure how I missed that!! And your white garden is gorgeous!! Don't be a stranger!
DeleteOh, thank you so much for this lovely reply. It certainly was not your blog - the difficulty was on my end. I am totally self taught on my electronic stuff and sometimes I would love to delegate and just say "you do it". I always look forward to reading your blog.
