THANKSGIVING DAY 2021

Thanksgiving Day is here...

Today here in Houston (and at the farm) it's a rainy and gray day, so that means it's a great day to stay inside.

2nd Man is working on a pecan pie as this posts, we roasted a turkey for the meat to use in his casserole and tomorrow, we're going to roast another turkey just to have the meat in the freezer for a couple more meals later in the year.  We're keeping it simple this year.

We're thankful for all of you that have come along with us for this crazy journey we're on.  We're glad to not be doing it alone, ha!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! Our lunch for 2 is a combo of Cracker Barrel and H-E-B as I didn’t order till Monday. I like the cooler drizzly weather for a change although disappointed the parade was canceled. Enjoy your meal(s) today!

    1. Thank you!!! Hope you had a great day. Nothing wrong with Cracker Barrel and you can't go wrong with HEB food. This weather is a nice change but yeah, so bummed about the parade. I think sunny days are coming back. Fingers crossed.

  2. In S. CO we have snow and sunshine and 37° at the moment! It is warming up and the snow will be gone!
My BBQ riblets are in the oven along with a small batch of mac and cheese and are due to come out very soon! In about 8 minutes!
I really have enjoyed your blog and look forward to reading it in the new year! For now: HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🦃

  4. It's 37 and SUNNY here in northern Missouri. The kind of day you go outside after the big meal and toss the ol' pig skin before the big game. Or in my case, the kind of day you snuggle into a chair and read something good and then watch an episode of "Agatha Raisin" on Acorn!
