STORMY DAY AHEAD AND COLDER WEATHER

It was cold at the farm.  And wet.  Friday when the front came through, we had some good rain.  Nothing was flooded of course but the damp and misty weather made it feel really cold.

Went only to check on things (all was fine) and came back.  Not much else to do, no watering needed of course (except the plants on the porch) and the vehicles were started and driven a bit and that was it.

While I was taking a break on the porch, I noticed the bushes were full of bees.  I got this great picture and we love it.  Two bees, a honeybee and a bumblebee, getting some of the last pollen and nectar of the season.  We imagine them hurrying back to their hive to get ready for the cold season.

Today as this posts, we're expecting another front with some potential for severe weather.

  1. Love your photo.
If you don't mind, I might use it on a card or 2.
Well, we have reached our high for today; low 40's and also had a light shower of rain earlier but will be getting more as the day goes on. Forecast; 100% chance.

    1. No problem. It's cold here, though probably not as cold as you are of course. More rain coming Saturday, just in time to go to the farm, or not, ha.

  2. That is such a beautiful picture of the two bees! I love it! What flower are they on?
It’s been raining here for several hours – not heavy but a steady rain, which is good because it soaks into the ground better. My garden is going to be very happy.
With night time lows in the 30’s and low 40’s all week, I’ll probably build my first fire in the fireplace this week.

    1. That is the one that does so well for us (almost too well sometimes, ha). Vitex, also called "Texas Lilac" since it resembles a lilac in a way. They do great and bloom ALL spring, summer and into fall.

Luck you with the fireplace! Yep cold and staying that way it looks like.

  3. Monday and a good possibility for some snow here in S. Colorado. The ole gray sky is looking promising but I hope it's a promise not kept!

    1. Hope you are staying warm too. We always hate to complain about our cold when we know how worse it could be. Stay safe!

  4. The picture is lovely. It looks like they are gathering the last of the harvest. We are expecting some rain tonight and a respite from freezing weather.

    1. That's a great way to put it, the last of the harvest. It is in a sense. Hope you are staying safe and warm! And dry!
