Quick update, it's been busy, ha! I went to the farm Saturday to mow and edge. I didn't take many pictures because the plan was that 2nd Man and I would go back out Sunday so he could see the house, and I would take a ton of pics. But alas, he wasn't feeling good, so we stayed in town yesterday.
We haven't had rain in weeks, so it's been a bit dry out there and there wasn't much to mow. Nothing like having a beautiful new house surround by brown grass but it is what it is. Barring measurable rain, there won't be much more mowing this season.
I edged around the house and the fruit trees. The best part was going inside where it's COOL! No place to sit though, so I put the lid down and sat on the toilet to rest, LOL!
Hey, you make do with what you have.
I stopped at the store the other day and they had garden tools on clearance, and these were $5 each! Never hurts to start fresh with some new tools for the yard. A couple of new shovels and a couple of new rakes...$20 total!
Then I had to water...
...and discovered a new way to get it to the plants that are temporarily behind the barn (they are there to be out of the way of the workers). Now that everything is getting cleared up around the house, I can drive the truck directly to the well! I just put the 5-gallon buckets in the back, filled them up and drove back over to water the plants. Again, this is only until we're out there and then I can move them over to the side of the house where there is a water faucet.
It was a hot weekend, but I left feeling accomplished.
And that's a win/win!
More house pics tomorrow and this week!
What a deal on the garden tools. Very smart to haul the water instead of carrying it. When you needed a break, I am glad you found a seat to rest on.
ReplyDeleteWow first to comment, makes me feel good.
ReplyDeleteWhen DS1 and DIL moved here last year, we loaned them two folding chairs and a card table and were told those were life savers. You might want to do the same as you wait for the house to be finished.
ReplyDeleteWishing y'all well!
Hugs!
You find some of the best deals! You have to have certain tools ... way to go!
ReplyDeleteAnd where better to sit and catch your breath then on the throne! LOL
Those $5 garden tools! You are a bloodhound for a good deal!
ReplyDeleteGreat new watering system. It sure is quicker and easier!
Glad you found a seat to rest!
Great finds at such a fantastic price. A person can always use a variety of lawn tools on the farm.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and blessings to you both
