When we ran errands on a rainy day recently, one of them was to go to the builder and have a sort of final check up of everything.
There were a few things that needed to be confirmed and modified, but it was all good.
Then, we saw this on the way on the way back! I told 2nd Man that it was a sign that it was all going to be ok.
Sure enough...
We got the news that we are released to construction! This means that all we are waiting on now, is to get on the schedule and then groundbreaking will finally happen!!! Were it not for Christmas/New Years, it would be happening now, but of course with the holidays, they will start in January.
We are headed for our dream home at the end of the rainbow!
The rainbow has just got to be a good sign!!!! An exciting time for sure. Will there be an extra bedroom for me when I come through Texas? LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteRight? Thank you, we are excited and it will be fun to watch it come to life. Of COURSE there will be a room for you! :-)
DeleteA house at the end of a rainbow is better than a pot of gold.
ReplyDeleteIt can be for sure. There is something to be said for a pot of gold but even that has a finite value and you have to spend it to get a house, ha.
DeleteThere is meant to be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. There is an ideal house (existing only in online images) at the end of this one. But will the reality be so? I would crank down your expectations, lest they deceive. Roderick
ReplyDeleteThere is a difference between an ideal house (that exists only online) and a dream house that you get to put your own stamp and design choices into, and we've gotten to do that. Sure, as with any house new, old, inexpensive or outrageous, there can be issues. We'll go with dream house, for us anyway, is awaiting us at the end. We'll see how it all comes out! Stick around and let's see what happens.
DeleteIgnore Anonymous above, we have seen every room of your planning and you have both put so much thought into what you want in each room. It will be your dream house and it's your rainbow, you do what you want and enjoy the happily ever after. Infinite love, Janie -
ReplyDeleteHa, we hear ya and you're right, it's our rainbow, ha. We are looking forward to it. They just told us that they'll be in touch with us just after the new year to come out and walk the site before the workers arrive to start excavating.
DeleteOMG how exciting for you both, I know how much you have prepared for this and you are getting everything you want it will be the dream at the end of the rainbow for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm an anonymous fan who has eagerly watched every post about what you have planned for your home and each person's dream home is their dream home and no one else's. You will have your ideal at the end and if it is not for everyone else, pay no attention to the haters, if you move in and are happy with your choices, that is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks for that, we love that there are people who enjoy what we post even if they don't always comment. We KNOW we'll be happy with our choices because we've had to agonize over them, and push up our budget to get a few of them, but like you said, in the end, as long as we're happy, it's all good.
DeleteLong time waiting for your dreams to become reality.
ReplyDeleteHappy and excited for you both. Enjoy them Beautiful moments.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend
Thank you so much, we always appreciate the words of encouragement you have for us. Big things to come!
DeleteThe rainbow! What a beautiful sign of wonderful things to come! Your own golden treasure at the end of the rainbow. So happy and excited for y’all!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you are very sweet, we appreciate it! Let the dreams come true!
DeleteI'll never for the life of me understand why some people have to be so negative on other people's blogs. Ignore the haters, they must be miserable in their own life and can't stand to see others so happy. Husband and I have watched your journey with admiration and happiness, we can hear your joy in every post. Can't wait to see the work step by step.
ReplyDeleteRoderick is getting some pushback, I think we understood what he meant, but he may not realize how involved we've had to be in every step, even stuff we haven't put on the blog (at the risk of being too boring, ha) including deciding where plumbing will go, how high to make outlets and where to put conduit, even counter heights for us. This is about as close to a custom home as we could get short of drawing it on a napkin and having it built. Build quality in the end will be the big factor but we've been in several of their homes (for other customers, not models) and they are stunning so fingers crossed. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for staying for the journey.
DeleteDelilah here, partner and I had a house built 5 years ago, it's our dream house and we fondly remember the day they told us we were released to construction. It was only about two weeks or so later we were putting our prints in wet concrete. So excited for you both!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear. Yes, they told us that if it weren't for Christmas and New Year's shortened weeks, we'd be breaking ground early Jan. As it stands now should be mid-Jan. And we have big plans for not just the handprints in the concrete but also for something really fun. Thanks for the well wishes!
