New Year's Eve is here...
We always stay in on this night, as people say, nothing good ever happens on the roads after midnight. Add in so many more people drinking and partying than any other night, and it's never a good combination.
Saw this online and it made us laugh...maybe it's post pandemic, maybe it's age, maybe it's just a natural progression we all have, but we just don't like crowds of people and getting out anymore. It's more fun to stay in and relax from the comfort of home.
Tonight, I'm making a new lasagna dish. Got it ready last night and it's in the fridge waiting to be popped in the oven later tonight. It's re-tweaked to be more healthy with fat free ricotta, 2% mozzarella, ground turkey, a marinara sauce with 0 grams of fat, etc, it should still taste great, we shall see. We'll still treat it as a splurge (only one slice each), have a nice large salad to start, and then we'll have a bottle of sparkling Rosé for the evening.
And our TV tonight will be:
Sounds super dooper wonderful . Enjoy! Gemma's Person
ReplyDeleteWe saw Wicked in the movie theater recently. 1st time in ages we've been to a movie viewing. Enjoy it and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou could put a token tree in all rooms, small ones that are decorated to put in small places. I like all the new ornaments.
ReplyDeleteYour lasagna looks wonderful! With some sparkling wine. In your nice comfy home. Without all the crazy crowds. The best way to ring in the New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. It will be an exciting new chapter for you. We are also moving, location as yet unknown so mystery surrounds our year ahead. Enjoy your cozy night in, sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteI saw Wicked on stage in Chicago years ago and I want to see the movie. I haven't gone to a theater since before the pandemic. You two good fellows enjoy your meal and movie tonight. It's definitely safer at home, which is where I'll be, comforting Princess and Penelope while the fireworks go off.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
We saw Wicked, if you love musicals and musical theater, this is AMAZING, prepare yourself! Staying in here too, kitties will be safe with us watching tv and listening to music. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to starting the new year with you two gentlemen and continuing on the journey to your new home! That is definitely going to be your "happy!"
ReplyDeleteWe have seen Wicked on stage 5 times now, but nothing has topped seeing in on Broadway with Idina Menzel. I do love Cynthia Erivo's voice but probably will not watch Wicked until part 2 comes out and I can see them both at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWe went out for dinner at 7:30 but were home well before the crazys were out. By 10 we were both home in pj's watching another football game.
A midnight toast may or may not happen. It depends if the couch monster claims us before the ball drops.
