COOL THRIFT STORE FIND

I found this the other day at lunch.  It's a heavy, cast iron candelabra and I think I may have actually snagged an antique.  There are no "made in wherever" tags or marks...it seems like a very old heavy cast iron and has an old world look and feel.  It didn't really even need to be painted and you know me and my love of a spray can!  It looks great on the contrast of this doily.

Best of all?  It was $3.00.

I love a deal!

  1. You find some amazing bargains. What kinds of thrift stores are these? Goodwill? What?

    1. Goodwill, Salvation Army, adn there are a bunch of other charity type places, like the Catholic Women's Guild, Women's Center Thrift and some other resale shops and thrift stores. It's a big business in a big city like Houston, there are thrift stores like these in every part of town. Heck, there are 5 within my "lunch radius" now at my new job, ha.

  3. Stunning! And the price ? Amazing. Some folks just don't know a good thing when they have it or they do but that fight they had with hubby in the am prompts them to lower the price. Whatever. It's all yours now!

    1. I know. Someone else decided they didn't want it, instead of throwing it away, they gave it away and it made it's way to our farm. I feel it was meant to be!

  5. Very, very nice. It certainly looks old and I like that finial in the middle. As a bit of a candlestick collector I can say that I am envious of this find of yours and I would never argue with a price like that!!

    1. Thanks! The finial is what drew me toward it. Kind of unusual. Candlestick collector huh? Now that's cool! I bet your home is beautiful when it's lit up by candles everywhere!
