OFF TO THE FARM TODAY

Since last weekend was a washout with the rain, and also our anniversary, today will be two weeks since the last visit...

Need to check things out, see if the Zen Machine starts (and/or if the grass even needs mowing) and then to check the garden to see how the okra is doing and harvest some more herbs and jalapeƱos and do a few more projects.

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

  1. My dream is to have a home deep in the city (I grew up in Chicago) a cottage in the west of Ireland on the sea and our Poor farm here in Illinois, PLUS the cash to roam back and forth freely among the three. You must feel truly excited each time you get back to your farm. I would.

    1. Aww, thanks for that. It's actually a nice balance, for now ha, to have our city life (and we are living in downtown in a high-rise apartment so that's definitely different) and the farm. We'd love a place in the mountains of Mexico, San Miguel de Allende, where we have been on vacation, but like you said, gosh, you need the money to freely travel among them all. We're lucky the farm is less than an hour away, ha.

      Thanks for the sweet comment!!

  2. No mowing here that's for sure as we have gotten7 inches of rain so far this week and still more coming. Right now we are having a light drizzle but rain is to continue through Monday.
Can't work outside so have been canning jellies, baking bread as well as making my own hamburger buns. Gotta have fresh buns to go with our burgers later today.
Hope you have a fun and enjoyable day and best of luck with your mower.

    1. 7 inches of rain? WOW! I think the heaviest has stayed South of us (here in town and at the farm).

Making Hamburger buns? Now that's something 2nd Man has never done. I need to tell him to google some recipes! I LOVE hamburgers...sigh....

    1. Lots of fun stuff before the rains came. Glad you got to get some time in at the lake (speaking of, package going out this week!).

  4. Hope you had a good day at the Farm! And that the mosquitoes weren't too bad. They are awful here - I have to spray down just to walk outside.
Did you put your new memo-calendar board to use?

    1. You know, they weren't too bad, but I'm sure they are coming, gearing up for it!

Haven't put up the board yet but will get to that soon!!
