A PLACE TO SIT, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

We like this little "respite" in the middle of a yard/property.  Sure it's construction but it's SO neat.  With the property having 11 acres total, there are so many places we would need spots like this to just stop and soak it all in.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't seem too complicated and how nice it would be to discover something like this as you wander around?  A quiet place to sit and relax will ALWAYS be welcome.

Be inspired!

  1. What a beautiful spot! This would be great for the Farm.
I have seen pictures of similar structures where they used old doors for the back wall.

  2. I really like this. Quite charming. Now you'd need cushions for the whole bench so you can lay down to nap or watch the trees or sky out the side windows. A great curl up spot with a good book and a cup of tea or something chilled.

  4. What a lovely little structure/adults cubby, first step is to find a nice old lead light window.
This could easily be made from recycled pallets, great project.

    1. It could be recycled pallets couldn't it? Once painted they would be uniform. Thanks!!

  5. Oh, my. What a nice place to nap out of the rain...lol. It is silly, but I would have a stash in a lockable box...lock handles, not a padlock. It would contain water, snack in glass jar, off, and a pillow for my head. Naptime! I feel a nap coming on just looking at that little house. The sky blue is perfect.

    1. Wouldn't it be neat if we could just do it by buying it already set up and ready to go? Ha!

    2. It doesn't look like it would be too hard to build. You guys could do it on couple long weekends!
Love the moss on the roof. Looks like the bldg has been there for a long while.

  7. Totally Awesome sitting area structure.
I definitely see this in my mind made out of old farm doors; back a sold wall and on each side door with glass on up0er part of door or doors with no glass along with a cute little chandelier hanging from top center.
Like that stained glass window on that back wall for added color
Sitting / laying out there with a good book and listening to a nice gentle rain; how peaceful that would be.
    Have an enjoyable weekend
