OFF TO THE FARM

 WHAT?

On a Friday?

During the work week?

Since we had a three day weekend last weekend, I thought I'd take this Friday off and have two in a row.  Plus a three day work week!

Side note, I REALLY like three day weekends, ha.

2nd Man has to work, so I'll head out this morning and get my yard work stuff done today instead of Saturday. Then I can come back into town and relax the rest of the weekend (Sunday is supposed to be rainy).  My goal today is the garden.  I want to finish that up, pull the weeds and then get the rest of the beds covered with cardboard.  We want to plant a few things for Fall, plus we'll have our garlic to plant as well so if I can get the beds ready for fresh soil and compost, that will speed up the process of getting the Fall garden planted.

We shall see!

I'll check in later, hope you all have a great day!

  2. Good idea. Today is not as hot and has lower humidity, so it’s a good day for yard work.
    Have a great weekend!

  4. Our neighbor had our lawn mowed today when he had his mowed. It looks great. When you move to the farm full time, might you have hummingbird feeders? It would be nice to grow my own garlic.

    1. Aww that was nice. Ours is still a bit of a mess but getting better. That is SO weird that you asked about hummers...when I got there this morning, I saw three all around the bushes and flowering vines, getting some nectar. I tried so hare to get some pics but they are so darned quick. But yes, we will DEFINITELY have some feeders. Can't wait!!

Garlic is coming any day in the mail but we usually plant about late October or so. It's easy to grow but you have to have the space.
