Today is New Year's Eve but for us it's just a regular weekend day mostly. We don't go out and fight the crowds. Our thinking is that nothing good happens on the roads after midnight when you're out. Too many crazy drivers. Plus, we feel we're past the age limit for partying until all hours of the morning to ring in the New Year. We'll leave that for the younger crowd, ha.
Much nicer to stay in with some good food, we'll still have some bubbly and then just watch the festivities as they unfold on TV.
We saw this the other day and were cracking up:
This sums it up perfectly! 😂😂😂
Enjoy the evening have fun and be safe whatever you do and wherever you go!
I'm in that same crowd. PJs, Miley and Dolly tonight are my part hosts.
ReplyDeleteI am already in my party attire--a long flannel nightgown with cardinals on it. Shoes are optional. You could not pay me to go out! Watching Dolly and Miley here and maybe a movie.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to the pair of you (and of course to Hobart too). It is New Year's Day here, and the new year found her way in without my assistance.
ReplyDeletei am totally the same. i never liked new year's eve. i finally took a week off from house things and cooked the entire week so my kids could come over for dinner tomorrow and a pipe blew out on our street and we've had no water all day. i have piles of dirty dishes everywhere and there is still no hope for water. not sure whet will happen now. anyway, happy new year to you guys!
ReplyDeleteWe have had our 6th floor New Year's Eve get-together with food and champagne and called it good by 5:30 p.m. It is 6:18 p.m. now!
ReplyDeleteNo staying up till midnight for most of us old folks!
You two have the right idea ... stay in and stay safe!
Oh my gosh that is so funny! And true! As others have said, I'm here in my slippers, my flannel pjs with a glass of wine hoping I make up until midnight. But if I don't as long as 2023 arrives like normal, I'm fine, ha. Janie V
ReplyDeleteStayed home as well and was in bed by 10:00. Watched a few of the neighbors fireworks and that was it for us. We're not really party animals. Leave that up to the much younger folks now.
ReplyDeleteMay the closeness of your loved ones, family, and friends fill your heart with joy. Happy New Year!
May 2023 find you happy, healthy, and surrounded by both family and friends! Look for the good in all things and then share it with as many as you can!
ReplyDeleteHugs from S. Colorado ❤
Enjoyed my evening at home with the kitties, safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all a very happy New Year!
Later, I’m making some cornbread to go with the black eyed peas, cabbage, and pork - a traditional New Year’s Day meal.
That was me. I can't remember the last time I stayed up until NY. Hope it's a wonderful year for you!!
