This was my big present...
A set of two new trail cams!
The other one we have was starting to wear out, probably just being exposed to the elements for a few years finally took a toll. These have much higher resolution, have the ability to do time-lapse photography, better night vision and will even pick up sound. There's also an optional solar panel so it can be battery free. For now, we're OK with batteries.
I put one up on the porch where the other one was and the second one will go near the back to see what's going on in the orchard area and the big empty land behind our house. Of course, I didn't have enough batteries to get the second one up so that will be turned on next weekend.
Stay tuned, hopefully we'll get some fun stuff. Maybe the ever elusive bobcat?
What a great gift and so looking forward to all of them nature / wildlife shots.
ReplyDeleteIt was good, the other one was fading and I think it wasn't even really taking many shots. There would be two weeks without any pictures. That's not possible, ha. We'll see what we get now!
DeleteWhat a PERFECT gift.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun to see if we can get some really good captures of animals. I might put one out further into the wooded area and see what we get.
DeleteI need one of those. What brand, price?
ReplyDeleteOkay, I finally saw the name and looked the trail cams up and know what I asked.
DeleteThere are SO many brands. He wanted to go high end so we could get some great pictures. But trust me there are many brands that are less. If you don't want sound or don't need super clear night vision, etc.
DeleteWhat a great gift! We've had a couple of cheapy trail cams, but they don't last long. I hope you'll keep us up to date on how they work and if you have any problems. A good trail cam is a good investment.
ReplyDeleteA perfect gift! Looking forward to seeing what wildlife shows up. Especially at the back of your property.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your captures.
