MY CAR HAS ARRIVED, 2013 FIAT 500

2013 Fiat 500
Sorry for the lateness of the post today but there is a reason, I was at the car dealer.  Here it is!  My new baby.  It came in last night and I picked it up today.  You maybe remember THIS POST where I said I ordered it.
I also said there were some clues in that image.

As you can see I wasn't kidding:

 Four wheels,
small,
red,
and holds stuff!

Here is what the interior looks like on the model I have and yes, I got the white accents and the red leather.

It's red!  And white!  Kind of like our future farm paint job!

I looked at a lot of small cars and it really came down to this or a Mini Cooper. They are about the same, size wise, but I just have to say, when I drove the Fiat, it was just plain old FUN to drive.  I liked the layout of the interior, it gives me plenty of space for carrying stuff (it's a hatchback and the back seats fold down, for all those thrift store finds), it still has a back seat if needed for passengers and it's really just a neat little car.  It was also more affordable than the Mini.  And oh yeah, it gets nearly 40 mpg.

It really was love at first sight.  The dealer I went to in Houston, for those shopping here, was Helfman Fiat.  They were wonderful from beginning to end, and I have no complaints at all.  If anyone is in this part of Texas and looking at a Fiat, I'd highly recommend this dealership and email me and I'll hook you up with the best salesperson ever.

I haven't named my car yet, but I will.  I need to get a feel for it first!

02/2013 UPDATE:

I have had the car for almost three months and I TOTALLY love it.  It's the best car I've ever had.  Sure it's small (though not any smaller than a Mini), but it's just more fun than I thought I could have in a car.

As for a name, after having it for a couple of months, I feel it has a male vibe.  Not sure why.  My last car felt like a female and I called her Kelly.  Can't come up with a male name for this one yet.  :-)

08/2013 UPDATE:

I forgot to update this post with the name.  My car's name is......

LUIGI ROSSO!

    1. I loved that green color, so retro and so european. That might have been my choice had I not opted for red. I've just never owned a red car and wanted one. Thank you!

    1. So so fun, really it's the most fun I've had driving a car. And yes, the red is what I consider the perfect red. It's like a fire engine red.

    1. The interior was a major selling point for me too. And it's much bigger inside than you might realize.

  6. Naming a car is very important.

My peugeot was named Jean-Philippe after the Baroque composer Jean Philippe Rameau.

Alas for me at present I am sans car but once back in Melbourne I intend to have one pronto!

I do like the shiny dashboard!

    1. Thanks, I wasn't sure if naming a car was silly. I'm thinking some Italian, but I still haven't figured out if it's a he or a she, lol. The dashboard is neat for sure! Hope you get a car soon too!

  7. CUTE. Sweet ride, matey. I took you for a guy that would place an after-market racing stripe on it though.. (so it goes fast. you know. aerodynamics)

    1. Ha, who knows it might have a stripe at some point, ha. All it really needs is wings and a small engine, LOL!

Oh, the new car smell is great (and coupled with the leather smell too). They may try to bottle it, but there is nothing like true new car smell. Thanks again.

  14. man, that is the best use of vintage styling i have seen in ages, a perfect design, like a 4-wheeeld vespa crossed with and old art-deco radio - i love it!

as i am sure you do, nice that it is fun to drive, i am sure you will keep the armor-all handy!!

does it come in pink, tell me no, otherwise kymber will want one!!!

    have a great thanksgiving!!!

    1. You know, when I first saw it, I thought the same thing, it was just so retro and art deco. I thought maybe I was the only one who thought like that, ha. Like an old radio but with satellite, ha.

Yep, already washed it once and it's not even a week old yet.

Pink....hmmm.....no, no pink so you're safe! There is a beautiful pale green that would go well WITH pink accessories. Google "Fiat Verde Chiaro" and imagine it with pink accessories. I think I should email Kymber and let her know, LOL!

      Thanks J!

  15. That is very cute; can't wait to see it in person! As a Star Trek fan I'm disconcerted though....RED! Just sayin'! :-D

    1. LOL! Hey, red was ok for Picard, so I'm ok with it. Of course that was more of a burgundy red. HAHA! Actually, the interior is more like the new Trek bridge, ha. You'll see it soon, I promise!

  19. Awesome! I absolutely love your car. It looks so stylish and compact. The colors of the interior look easy on the eyes, especially the lovely combination of red and white colors. And the red leather seats look so comfortable! I’d love to hop in the driver’s seat and test drive it. I’m sure it runs great too!

  20. I’m happy you got the car that you ordered! The Fiat 500 is a really nice, and it brings back the classic European car design. Its interior is also amazing, and it features FIAT Eco that analyzes the style of the driver and modify the driver’s technique to help reduce the fuel consumption. I’d like to suggest the name “Sophie” that connotes sexiness. I think it will suit her, but it’s up to you!

    1. Thank you! I'm getting a male vibe though after driving it, not sure why. My last car gave me a female vibe. It's weird huh? I do like the name Sophie though. Got any good sexy male suggestions, ha?
