HARVEST EXTRA ACRES, VINTAGE POSTER SUNDAY

Most every Sunday, we try to post an image of old posters that we find during online surfing.  We enjoy the ones that reflect farming, gardening and/or food preservation and rationing.  We enjoy them because we often wonder if anyone today would heed the kind of advice they gave back then...enjoy!

Here's a neat poster image.  This dates form 1945, so during WWII of course.  There was a shortage of food and other resources during the time and this one urged farmers to plant and harvest extra acreage.  Planting more and harvesting more just trickled on down to everything else, more food for cattle, more cattle for people, etc.  The World Needs Seed!

No rain today, I'm debating going to the farm to check on things, 2nd Family tells us about 3" of rain but because the ground was saturated from LAST weekend, they say that things are a muddy, mucky mess.  They've checked the house and it's OK so we'll just play it by ear today.  Another open house today so we'll have to leave for a few hours anyway.

Update later tonight!
