MORE BLUEBERRIES

Look, we have even more blueberries!

Blueberries on the bush
First time we had ever had this many on the bush ripe at the same time.  It still wasn't enough for a pie or muffins, ha, but hey, we're getting there.  So pretty to see them on the bushes like this. They look like frosty blue sapphires in the sunlight!

Blueberries in a jar
These are the ones that made it back home.  I will confess to eating a handful on the way back.  Hey, they were good and I was hungry!  I told 2nd Man they didn't all make it.  He understood and then said "why do we have bird netting if you're going to eat what the birds would have?"

Hmmm...he's not wrong, LOL!

  1. :-} The way it sounds, you just may need to plant you more blueberry bushes.

    1. Well, if I keep eating them fresh, we just might, ha. But we have four so I just need to control my hungry.

    1. Aww, thanks, I was thinking of a good way to describe them and I always thought they were sapphire blue color, it just seemed natural, ha. Aren't they good? Blueberries are SO wonderful.

    1. Thank you! Oooh, jam would be SO good. We don't have enough for that, yet, of course, this is first year of them producing. We hope to have jam one of these days.

  4. I have to eat fresh fruit on the way home, too! Once, a friend in the country gave me a gallon of figs she picked. I ate a quart on the way home. It made me very stuffed so I felt really awful.

    1. LOL, a lady after my own heart, ha. Hey, when we're hungry we're hungry, right? :-) Thankfully I didn't have a tummy ache, ha.

  5. Gorgeous picture of your blue beauties. And a beautiful description of them.
I guess you could save up each picking by freezing for a pie or muffins - but what’s the fun of that! It’s much more fun to eat them fresh directly from the sunlit bushes. After all, life is uncertain, so eat dessert first!

    1. Thanks, I think that would make a green shirt, "life is uncertain, eat dessert first!" ha. We could have saved them but there weren't a lot each time but stay tuned tomorrow for how we used this batch.

  6. I picked blueberries today from neighbor's very very large patch. She charges $2 a pint. I picked a quart and then some. We had blueberry pie for dessert tonight and I think blueberry pancakes may be served soon for breakfast.

    1. OH MY. We'll be right over! ha. Our patch is small, but should hopefully supply enough for us someday. I don't think I've ever had a proper blueberry pie, I'll have to look for some recipes online.
