Now very much longer for these finds!
Regular readers know that I have a favorite place to look for bargains...our downstairs trash area! Our building has trash chutes on every floor, and they feed into a separate room, but for boxes and other things that people can't put in the chute, there is an area (indoor) near the loading dock where people can put the things they don't want. I've found quite a few cool items over the last few years.
Here is something I found the other day (no, not a case of Maker's Mark whisky, LOL). I saw this basket and then a wooden wine crate on top of the big box.
The other item is a wooden wine crate. We love these in the pantry to keep packages of grains, rice, dried pasta/noodles (whole wheat now!) and things like that. Hey, they were saved from the landfill and now serve a purpose in our new pantry/kitchen.

I wish people threw out such good stuff near me.
ReplyDeleteLikewise in my area.
ReplyDeleteTwo great finds! Both will be great in your pantry. You’re sure going to miss your treasure hunts!
ReplyDeleteBoth Wonderful items and so very useful as well. Many, many uses for them wine crates. I have even secured 'feet' or spindle legs on the bottom, put on handles and used as planter box. I have made into a storage foot stool; etc. Also great for pantry storage items as well.
ReplyDeleteI do love that basket. Both Great and awesome; useful treasures.
Have secured on the wall for a shadow box effect to decorate for the holidays or anytime through out the year; Spring, Simmer, Fall and winter.
Wishing U both a wonderful weekend.
Blessings 2 U both.
Ich wünschte mir auch so eine Schatzkammer in meiner Umgebung. Ich lese schon lange und sehr gerne Ihren Blog. Viele Grüße aus Germany.
ReplyDeleteI will miss your wonderful finds.
ReplyDeleteWell done, once again.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I posted this comment previously under the wrong blog entry.
ReplyDeleteCheck the bottom of the basket to see if it is labeled “Longaberger”. Those baskets are very expensive and this one resembles them.
