Well, for some closure for all of us, here is a final post about Hobart.
Here he is, about a week after we found him. Pardon the fuzzy image, no smart phones with fancy cameras back then, ha. Who knew that mischievous little face would bring us so much joy and happiness over the next twenty years?!?
As we did with the other two, we had a paw impression done. They actually did this while we were there, so while it was sad, it was nice to watch it being done.
We got his ashes back a few days ago and now he is with his two brothers. It was bittersweet of course but provided some more closure for us. We put them on his favorite blanket...on his favorite chair...in the sunshine...one last time. Because...

BIG hugs!!! It is always so hard to say goodbye to them.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely way to say goodbye and keep his sweet memory.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to say good bye but good to remember he had the best life possible, two men to jump at his command, two men to work and keep him in a nice home, plenty of food, nice places to sleep and if he was not comfortable he had people to make sure life was the best he could have. A cat that wanted for nothing and was loved every day of his life and he loved his two servants. I mean dads.
ReplyDeleteWhat elle said so very well...I cannot add anything more. We all so loved Hobart and both of you, of course. He had a grand and long life. X

ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet tribute ... I miss the Sunday "Good food and Hobart!" blogs!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. He is missed by many of us and many of us also know the depth of pain this kind of loss can inflict. I have always said the loss of a beloved pet is a different kind of grief. Always sending good vibes to you and 2nd Man. Johnnie
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. Hobart is running and playing and sleeping in the sunshine where he will be when he meets you both on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to dear Hobart. And a beautiful photo of him lying on his blanket on his chair, enjoying the sunshine. He was such a special, sweet, beautiful boy.
ReplyDeleteAlways loved, Never forgotten, Forever in our hearts.💔
Super spoiled and we loved it, and him. Enjoy rainbow heaven, sweet boy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Hobart with us. He deserved to be spoiled. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSweet Hobart...thanks for this sharing. You gave him love and he loved you.

My heart hurts for you both but time will make it easier, I promise. I have been with four as they crossed over and it never gets easier, nor should it. We love them their entire lives, and that's gift you can treasure. Joy
ReplyDeleteI love that last line you said about missing him. Very touching. Blessing to you both. L Janie V
ReplyDeleteI think the porch is my favorite place.
ReplyDeleteHobart was loved. May we all sleep in the sunshine forever.
