SIMPLE MEALS CAN BE THE BEST

So after a long day at work, doing something simple for dinner can fill you up just as easily as something elaborate.

Meat and Cheese dinner plate
We threw together a plate of sliced cheeses, some summer sausage, bacon jerky with Sriracha (from Trader Joe's), crackers, carrots, a bowl of dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), and some rolled up lavash flatbread with hummus...

Berries and whipped cream
...and for dessert I took some fresh strawberries, blueberries and a couple of raspberries and layered them in wine glasses with whipped cream.  The pretty presentation made it seem like a fancy dessert but it couldn't have been easier.

Sometimes, simple is best!

THURSDAY UPDATE: Having some blogger issues, I updated software on my computer and now blogger is acting weird when I try to create a new post or reply to comments.  I hope to have it fixed Thursday evening.

  5. Now that is my kind of meal!

We went to a berry farm last week & picked an assortment of berries so there are quite a lot in the freezer.

    1. It's so nice having berries in Winter. Great to keep them in the freezer for 'emergencies', lol.

  7. I think blogger must be looking for terrorists. My reading list has been gone for a week now and nothing I can do has brought it back.

  9. Perfect in so many ways! I'm jealous of all of the talk on blogs about Trader Joe's. I'm not aware of any in our area of Ohio. I see so many unique food items discussed which were purchased there. Blueberries, yes indeed!

    1. You know, we haven't had one until about 2 years ago or so. We were jealous of the other talk too. I never really knew what the excitement was all about but they are a really wonderful store. Lots of really high quality good food.

Aren't blueberries wonderful? One of my favorites.

    3. Thanks for the Kenwood information. I've never heard of that area so it's probably not nearby my home. I found a few in CLE and I might make a special trip up there just to investigate. Sounds like a city destination to me.

    1. Oh my gosh, isn't it wonderful? We had never had it until recently. Someone in the store said it was good and so we tried it. Bacon? Sriracha? Heaven!
