WEEKEND WASHOUT

Well...

...there won't be a trip to the farm this weekend.

We are in the middle of storms that just keep rolling in over and over.  No major flooding yet, there is a break between them, but it's supposed to last all weekend.

That storms are widespread and staying along the coast which draws up moisture and keeps the rains coming.

This was at 2am when we were awakened by loud thunder...I picked up my phone and checked the radar so we can see what it's doing at the farm.  That little "push pin" symbol is the farm.  Just rain and storms for a hundred miles around.

So today and tomorrow will be good days for reading and napping and just generally being a cat, ha!

Hope your weekend is off to a better start!

7:00pm update: 3.25 inches of rain at the farm

  1. Too bad about the washout for going to the Farm. At least all of your recent plantings are getting some good rain. And your neighbor’s ducks are probably loving it. Just take your cue from Hobart – he’s an expert on napping and snacking.
So far, I’ve gotten nearly 8 inches. No flooding here, maybe because the ground was so dry and just soaked it up. It looks like the Austin area is really getting it. Their aquifers are getting a much needed recharge.

    1. Yes, the garden will love it and the blueberries should take off. Fruit trees will be happy too. We are all in drought territory so the rain is much needed. I think we ended with 4 inches or so.

  2. Sounds like you are getting what we just had but more rain in the forecast next week as well for us; but mostly scattered showers.
Guess we best enjoy the rain when we get it cause this summer when it starts to turn hotter we will all wish we had a few rain showers.
Hubby just washed our truck about a week and a half ago and has been raining off and on since.
One thing about it; if we want rain all he has to do is wash the truck or take a week of vacation we are bound to get rain during those times. Yup; he's on vacation all next week and rain is in the forecast.

    1. That's quiet a bit. I think our final was about half that.

  5. Does your Weather App really show Texas as "Texass?" LOL Personally, I love that because with some of the craziness you deal with down there ... well, the "ass" fits!!
    Enjoy your feline-style relaxing!!!

  6. It's late Sunday afternoon and a thunderstorm has begun here. I celebrate the rain for the grass and the flowers, but Franklin is upset by it and won't eat his supper.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Yes we needed the rain too, and it never got bad, just ruined an otherwise good weekend but hey, we need a break from time to time. Sorry about the scared babies.
