WILDLIFE IN THE YARD

It's been a while since we posted some trailcam pictures but we know they are always fun to see and so we found three of the most interesting...

(as always, you can click to enlarge)

Trailcam bird in flight

This was a great one from a few months ago...a bird captured in mid-flight.  Not sure what kind of bird it is but it was just lovely to see the wonder of flight up close and frozen in time.

Trailcam Deer

Recently, we captured these four FIVE (thanks Texas Rose) deer playing in the front yard.  "J" from Second Family said she saw them running and jumping back and forth over the fence from their back pasture into our front yard for about an hour.  She said it was a great way to sit on her porch and have a cup of coffee.

The battery was low on the trailcam, so it didn't capture the video of it, that would have been fun to see.

Trailcam Coyote

Lastly, this photo from just a couple weeks ago.  At first, we saw it and we were thinking "whose dog is that?" but upon further looking, we realized "oh wow, that's a coyote roaming through the front yard!"

We are thinking of buying a few more and putting them on further areas of the property.  No telling what we might capture then.

  1. Really enjoyed seeing the wildlife on your trail cam photos.
The bird photo is awesome. Not American Eagle but that may be a white tailed eagle.
Thanks for sharing your photos. They are really great pictures that where captured.

  2. It’s amazing seeing all the wildlife that visits your Farm. It must be fun to check your trailcam and see what surprises show up.
I clicked on the pictures to enlarge them and the details were fascinating. The bird has some stripes on the underside of its throat. And the sunlight shining through a wing makes it nearly semi-transparent.
There are actually 5 deer - 4 in the yard and a fifth one jumping over the fence. You have a small herd of deer there!
Good idea about setting up more trailcams - it would be so interesting to see what’s roaming around on the more brushy parts of the Farm.

  3. My first thought was Blue Jay but those neck stripes rule that out. Hmmm...

  4. Could you please tell me what kind of trailcam you have and any helpful hints about using them? We have a couple of acres here in the Poconos of PA and we hear so many strange noises at night, see eyes glowing from the woods and have suffered serious tree/flower/bush loss despite fencing around them. We've often said, let's get a trailcam so we can see how they're getting in.
