RED WINE AND WHITE WINE SUBWAY ART PRINTS

We enjoy a glass of wine now and then and want to have wine at the farm, so the other day I was at a store and I found these awesome "Subway Art" prints.  Speaking of, does anyone know why this style is called that?  It seems to be pretty popular right now, I see it everywhere.  Anyway, they were on sale and I just couldn't resist because they are perfect for this corner.  They are printed canvas on a wood frame and the black one has the names of red wines and the white one has the whites.  It's kind of hard to tell in this picture but the background is a sort of wood floor effect.  I hung them in an awkward corner of the dining room above what will soon be a bar table.  It seems black and white is a becoming a recurring theme in the house, matching the vinyl floors, the desk  chair, some of the other furniture, etc, so these fit perfectly.  The bar table should will be finished soon.  Still trying to find the right pieces for it.  Need some more glassware, a tray of some sort and a few other things.  Might be time for a thrift store run...but it should be neat when it's finished.

  1. Oh my, I love those! We love wine too and coincidentally, we have some other types of 'subway art' in our house. I might just have to see if I can find something like that. It's pretty, I can't wait to see what it looks like all together.

Enjoy your blog by the way, you are doing what we want to do, just haven't gotten the land and house yet. We live in a big city and want to have a place to "escape" to on the weekends and fix up as our retirement place. Living a simpler life is always a good thing.

    1. Thank you. When I saw them I just knew they would be perfect for this awkward little corner above the table. Found some glasses the other day, wine glasses, now we need some other regular glasses and a few other things and we'll be done.

Thanks you for your kind words. First of all, welcome! Secondly, yes, we're slowly fixing this up to be our escape. Well it IS our escape now, and someday it will be for retirement too. The purpose of this blog is to just document a step by step timeline of each thing we do, and maybe along the way I can share something you might find interesting, and we'll learn something from you!

  3. Those are really neat. I've seen similar prints and posters with other things on them, but never wine. That's a great find. Can't wait to see the bar. Love your blog by the way, I feel like I'm following along with a friend who is moving and keeping track of all the moments.

    1. Thanks! Yep same here, like John said above, they were so different I just had to get them. I didn't want to, a year from now, go "remember those wine prints....??" ha.

Thanks for mentioning the blog. Like I said, I do hope that's the way people feel. We're not just gardening, or just food or just decorating or just whatever, it's a combination of lots of things.

      Please come back!! :-)

    1. Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I got them at the Marshall's store called "Home Goods". Here in Houston we have several of them in town and I had to go to several to find them but I did. Here is the website, check out their store locator: http://www.homegoods.com/

Since they are owned by Marshall's, if have a Marshall's near you, you might find it there too.

Good luck, they are really cool huh? When I saw them, I just KNEW we had to have them for this corner. Let me know if you find them!!

If you don't have one of those stores near you, let me know and I could check out a couple here and see what they have.

    1. I SO wish I could find one for you. I actually started looking around at the various Marshall's stores here to see if they had more that I could sell. I get a lot of traffic of people looking for these. If anyone can help out, please let everyone know here!

    1. Hello! We got ours originally at Marshall's Home Goods store. Of course this was 2012 so I'm sure they are long gone. there is no maker name on the back of them so I'm not sure at all where they came from originally. The lady above found a set on eBay. This print style as I'm sure you know, is called subway art or subway print. I would search eBay or etsy or even google image search for subway art wine or something along those lines. I will keep my eyes open if I stumble across any more.

      Thanks!!!
