One thing I've always loved, and you'll see it reflected in some of the pictures I've used for my "Inspiration Thursday", is a nice place to sit in a garden.
Sure we don't have our gardens up and pretty just yet, but when we do, I want something like this. Just a simple bench, a place to sit, amongst the flowers and bushes. Isn't it pretty? And peaceful? We all need a place to stop and smell the roses...and admire our hard work.
Today is my blog day off so I'll see you back here tomorrow morning, bright and early! Hope you have a great day.

You are so right. We gardeners often fail to take the time to just sit and enjoy our handiwork. With the new deck and with the swing my husband made years ago we do try to just sit sometimes. By the way the benches on our deck were very simple to make if you need a quick bench idea. ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that design is so simple and easy!! Thank you for that link (and it's a great website by the way, I'm sure to find lots of fun stuff there!). Thank you! Yes, it is easy to forget that we do this not only to create something of beauty that others can see, but for us to enjoy too!
Deletemy daughter gave us her old teak patio furniture. Our front yard has a level area by the house and then slopes down towards the road. I always wanted a seating area by the pink dogwood tree. Now I have a teak love seatthere and in the back patio I put the two chairs and table. I like the picture of the bench (love seat) from Moose Gardens. Lovely pictures , thank you
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would give us some old furniture, ha. It's nice creating an 'outdoor room'. Be it a living room, or a dining room, or whatever. I bet your space is just beautiful and if I saw a picture of it, it would be an inspiration to me too!!
DeleteAnd you will need a tiny something as a table for your drink. Could be a stump, a pile of flagstones. Trust me
ReplyDeleteOooh! Good point, thanks for the reminder. I like the idea of a stump, that's kind of cool. I go back and forth between things being kind of formal (like the above bench) and rustic and weathered. I guess they all have their place huh? Now that you've mentioned it, I'm thinking tree stumps and stones, ha!
DeleteHow lovely it is to see several plants in the same area. Such a great place for the bench to be put into.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
