River stones around a fountain, image via Pinterest |
On the last post, I talked about the river stones we have started bringing from the house in town to the farm so we can save them for future use. You all had some great ideas and this is one I found based on some of your suggestions.
Granted, we don't have a patio like this (and never will) but a fountain done in a corner of the yard, surrounded by beautiful river stones and some greenery like this one, would be lovely. We've always liked these vase/urn style fountains and the water running down the sides and over the stones would be nice...not to mention the color of the stones would shine.
Be inspired!
Perfect idea!!!! You will need electricity wired to the spot unless you go with a solar pump (very expensive) This is a simple circulation from holding pond underneath back to the urn. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks for the info!!! I forgot about the electricity part, hmm, might have to keep it close to the house if we ever do this.
Deletethis would be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be added to the list. More going on now that we have to deal with first but that can happen later.
DeleteThis is a great idea. It would showcase the color of those beautiful rocks. And it would be such a peaceful area in your yard.
ReplyDeleteThe rocks have a beauty that the water would bring out. I love the idea of peaceful...the sound of trickling/running water is so relaxing.
DeleteI have a fountain like that that sets in my front garden bed. It has beautiful lights at night that go straight up and hit the wall of my garage. I found it at an Ace Hardware store if you are interested. It plugs into my front porch outlet.
ReplyDeleteOh I never thought about lights, I bet that WOULD be gorgeous. Cool! Thanks! And we have Ace's all over here. I will have to check that out, thank you!!!
DeleteSuper idea and would look lovely on the otherwise of your porch corner

Once again, you rock! thank you!!!
DeleteI love it and would love to have something like it, but in my neck of the woods it would probably turn into a snake pit.
ReplyDeleteHa, that's possible here too. And, um, keep an eye out (or not, lol) for tomorrow's post, on a related topic.
DeleteYep...............add it to your list!
ReplyDeleteIt's ever growing isn't it? Ha.
Deletethat would be wonderful, it would be great!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, they are so pretty and there is something about running water that is so cathartic.
DeleteBirds would like it too. It would also make a really nice bird bath.
ReplyDeleteOh, around a bird bath!!!!! We HAVE a concrete birdbath I've been trying to figure out what to do with! Thank YOU!!!
DeleteI LOVE this idea! Maybe put it next to the stairs going up to the porch? You would see it everytime you enter the house & hear it while sitting on the porch. Easy access to electrical & water too.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great place for it. And we would have electric outlets right there on the porch. Thanks!
DeleteThat's a good use for those stones. They'll work well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I saw it and thought "hmm, we could do something like that". Now I just need to get the rest of them out there, ha.
DeleteMy mom has one of these at her house and the birds love it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Glad to know someone who's done something similar and great that it works. Thanks!!
