FINDING NATURES BEAUTY AROUND US

Took some pictures at the farm that when I looked back at them they were just too pretty not to share...

Blue skies, white clouds, and green trees...nothing prettier when you're in the country.

This is a weed of some sort, but dang if it's not pretty, in a "don't touch it with bare hands" kind of way of course, ha.

This is a fungus on a tree of all things, but it has the prettiest colors.  It almost looks like something from "The Painted Desert" national park in Arizona.  Reminds us the colors of Autumn.

Yesterday was a hot day, and it rained, update tomorrow. It's about to rain today, so we're staying in town where it's cool.

  2. It isn't a weed. It's Sea Holly. I've got quite a lot of it in my garden. Our weather here in the UK is certainly different from yours. We've had our first home grown tomatoes today. lol! Peace and Blessings

    1. Wow, thanks for that info. I called it a weed because they just randomly pop up all over the property. I will have to research that, see if I can do something like it on purpose, ha. Thanks and yay for homegrown tomatoes, enjoy!!! Nothing like it! And thanks for stopping by!!

  5. Nature's beauty is captured well for me in that first picture. That tree fungus looks like a rock outcropping. I never heard of a sea holly. I will have to look up that one. You don't live near the sea at all. Nice pictures.

    1. LOL, first thing I thought when they said sea holly, the farm is a good 100 miles from the Gulf, ha. Yes, that tree fungus looked like rock to me too, especially in a closeup picture like that, ha.

  7. That fungus is called Polypore I believe. There are hundreds of verities but most grow on decaying wood. I have some on a hickory tree here in SC.

    1. Thank you for this. I will have to look that up. This is on a dead mesquite branch.

  8. I thought that was a Thistle, which we have a lot of here in SC. But it does look more like a Sea Holly, interesting! Beautiful pictures.

  9. 1st Man,

Love your pictures! Beautiful skies over TX, and definitely don't touch the pretty purple weeds. Don't you just love the coloring?

I really like the fungus you've capture. I haven't seen this color before.
