Great weekend. Weather has been good and of course, the Astros are one win away from the World Series!
But Sunday is always time for some good food and some Hobart. First up the good food.
Believe it or not, we have had never had these before. They are called "pork riblets". 2nd Man just seasoned them and put them in the electric skillet and they came out really well. Nice color on them too. On the side, we had shaved Brussels sprouts with diced peppers.
We'll be buying some more riblets for sure in our regular rotation.
We've posted before about how Hobart likes to sleep in front of the refrigerator. With the warm air blowing out, he realized early on that it was a great place to keep warm...and here he is again, completely blocking access to the refrigerator. So we just work around him, until he gets up and moves. Because...

My son also learned it was warm in front of the refrigerator. I would get up in the night and he would be curled up in front of the refrigerator. Those riblets look delicious. Did he shave the vegetables or buy them shaved?
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny. He sought out the warmth! We bought the shaved ones. They sell them in a bag, it's so much easier, ha.
DeleteYour meal looks delicious!! Hobart is so fluffy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, and he's very fluffy for sure!
Deleteyou should try to maneuver around a kitchen with two chow chows stretched out in all of their glory. they only do this because i will never step on them so it's really my fault.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I can't even imagine. A maintenance guy for the apartment was here not long ago and when he went to leave he goes "um, this cat won't move". Yeah, they get sued to what we do and they expect it.
DeleteDoes Hobart travel with you to the farm?
ReplyDeleteNo, he's old (almost 17) and we don't want to stress him out. Now if, God willing, he's still around when we get out there permanently, then of course he'll be out there with us. But he doesn't travel well and we figure it's easier to not upset his routine, ha.
DeleteI wonder if what you had is what is labeled here as boneless country ribs?
ReplyDeleteHmm, no, these definitely had bones, small little flat bones. Next time we buy some (and we will because they were good and inexpensive) we'll take some more pics. Though it sounds like we need to look for boneless country ribs too! :-)
DeleteDelicious supper! Mmm, ribs or riblets!
ReplyDeleteHobart, you’re such a smart cat – you know how to keep warm on chilly Fall days.
It was good. And yep, he knows how to stay warm.
