Most every Sunday, we try to post an image of old posters that we find during online surfing.  We enjoy the ones that reflect farming, gardening and/or food preservation and rationing.  We enjoy them because we often wonder if anyone today would heed the kind of advice they gave back then...enjoy!

Hope you are having a great 4th of July weekend (for those here in the States).
It's hot here today and since I did so much yesterday, I'm skipping mowing this weekend and staying in where it's cool.  2nd Man is cooking, I'm running some will be a good day.

I would say that you deserve a day off.
Whole different generation now then back in our day. Seems like the young ones now days do what they darn well please and forget about any rules.
Hope both you and 2nd man both have a very happy Independence Day.

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain;
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea.

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control,
Thy liberty in law.
