AT THE FARM, FINAL WALKTHROUGH?

We are off to the farm today.

I won't write a big long note, just a short one to let you know where we are
and that we might come back with good news.  Is a finished interior in our future?

I guess we'll know soon enough!

Until then, enjoy this picture I took Wednesday...in the midst of the dead brown yard, the 3" rainfall we got brought these colors to the yard.  Sure, they are probably weeds Rain Lilies (thanks SB158!) so it's still better seeing this than the barren patch we've had most all of this summer.

We'll take what we can get at this point.

More later!

  3. No, those are not weeds. They're rain lilies; only bloom after a rain. Since there hasn't been much lately, they haven't bloomed.
I live down in the Rio Grande Valley, so so can empathize with your drought. Pretty sad when you almost hope for a hurricane just to get some rain! We can't even buy a decent tropical storm, it seems...sigh...

  4. @ SB158: First of all, welcome to our blog! Thanks for visiting and lots of thanks for commenting (we love comments!). "Rain Lilies"??? Oh my gosh, I never knew that. How cool is that? I love learning something new. They are very pretty! Thanks for that, I learned something new (and I'm going to google it and might post a blog entry on it, thanks to you!). Ah yes, rain. What is that stuff again? Yes, many times this long, hot, dry summer we were wishing for hurricanes or tropical storms or even just an afternoon shower. I've never seen it this bad. I just hope we get a break this Winter, and maybe next Spring.
