VINTAGE POSTER SUNDAY, SAVE SUGAR

Save Sugar, Vintage Poster courtesy of:  US National Archives
Here is a poster from WW1 (probably circa 1917).  During the war, sugar was in short supply and people were urged to save it by using an alternative.

This poster suggested that people use molasses and cane syrup as a substitute.  Can you imagine, a shortage of sugar?  Gosh today, it seems sugar is in practically everything (and in many things we don't want it in).  Of course, more often today it's High Fructose Corn Syrup in everything.  So much so, that I could see a similar poster urging people to stay away from HFCS and use molasses and cane syrup...and honey...and agave nectar...etc.

Enjoy and hope you are having a great weekend!

P.S. Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY, it ends tonight at midnight!
