Every Thursday, we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm.
Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!
Red Bench, image via pinterest.com |
We had a chance the other day to get a small wooden bench but we had to act fast (long story involving getting the right vehicle there in time). Alas, we missed it. Later on, we were thinking "well, what could we have really done with it anyway?" I decided to Google search some small benches redone into an outdoor bench. I found the image above.
Now I'm really sorry we didn't get that little bench. A couple coats of outdoor paint and we'd have a nice little splash of color (LOVE THE RED!).
Be inspired!
I love that red too,, you'll find another one,,
ReplyDeleteYep, the one that we're meant to have, right? I like the red, when we get one it WILL be red. Among other colors elsewhere but red will be the first.
DeleteI will lash anything onto my car. Once, I rescued two huge pieces of lattice, placed them on the top of my car, held them because I had no rope. I drove slowly home, crept actually.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love benches!
LOL, I like how you think!!! Love it! I'll have to remember that.
Deletewhat a good idea!
ReplyDeleteSimple easy and recyclable....
DeleteLove that bench! It looks so pretty with the red vegetables and geraniums.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the benches made from headboards?

That really does make it look so pretty. And I LOVE those headboard benches, will have to check that out.
DeleteI would find it very hard to get my behind up from that bench. Such a lovely place to sit...
ReplyDeleteThat's true for me too. I have not put in any seating yet, usually cause I'm so busy doing other stuff, I figure once i get a bench, my time will be curtailed, ha.
Deletea lot of crafters are now making benches out of old head / foot boards from beds. Check thrift stores, one will turn up and it will be the right one.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at those, so cool, thanks!!! And you are right, we'll get the one we are meant to have, right? :-)
DeleteA coat of paint can really make a big change. If a bench is rough looking, a bit of sanding, some primer and fresh coat a paint does wonders.
ReplyDeleteAlso have seen benches made from old baby cribs, old doors, even 3 or 4 old chairs put together and made into a nice looking bench. Even old church pews make for a wonderful bench.

possibilities are endless when making benches out of repurposing items
So many wonderful ideas!!! Thank you! Gosh, now I have to find the time for something like that. And repurposing is always something that's neat to do. Thanks!!
