GOOD FOOD AND HOBART SUNDAY

Here we are, almost ten days into the new year.  Wow.

While I was at the farm yesterday dodging rain and before we were later in the evening dodging tornado warnings, he made some buttered noodles with pork medallions in gravy.  It's almost like pork stroganoff, that's why we added some sour cream and chives.  It was delicious comfort food for sure...

We had to have some wine, a rosé from Shark Tank's Mr. Wonderful...it's really good.

Hobart

...and while we were eating, Hobart was just "hanging around", ha.  Here he is relaxing on the back of the couch.  He loves doing this, we guess it's comfortable.

Hope you are having a good weekend.  It's been a mess here all weekend, more on that tomorrow.

  1. My cat hangs out like that sometimes. Some of the positions they get themselves into do not look comfortable, but I guess to a cat it is. Have a great Sunday!!

  2. I suppose I am as old as Hobart, but I could never get myself out of that position. Maybe having four legs helps.

    1. He does that all the time on these couches, they are just wide enough that it fits his mid section and he puts two legs on each side. I guess it's comfortable, ha .

  5. Y’all had some terrible weather yesterday and last night in Houston. It was just to the east and north of here, so it barely missed us. Some crazy weather around here lately - hot, cold, stormy, spring-like!!
That was a delicious supper to come home to! Adding the sour cream was perfect. Mmm!
Hobart is so creative in his sleeping places and positions!

    1. It was wild, truly a rollercoaster of everything. Glad it missed your area too. It's definitely felt like March or April not JANUARY. Hobart is good at getting comfortable, ha.

  6. I have always been curious as to how you named your kitty Hobart. Decades ago, when I was young, I worked at a Pizza Inn in El Paso and we had a huge pizza dough mixer which was a Hobart.

    1. Well hello there! Ha, we laugh because we too are familiar with Hobart mixers. It actually goes back to my first kitty that I had before 2nd Man and I met. I named him Sydney, after the city in Australia because I always wanted to go there. Then a few years later we got a second kitten and we thought "let's continue the naming trend" so we chose Brisbane. Then we wound up with this third one and we looked at a list of cities. We figured if he had been a girl, we were going to use Adelaide. But he turned out to be a 'he', so we looked at another list and the city of Hobart just stuck out to us. It just seemed the right name. So there we had...Sydney, Brisbane and Hobart. Sadly we lost Sydney at 19 and Brisbane at 18. Hobart is still a young acting 16 so we hope for lots more years with him. :-)

  7. That pork stroganoff looks wonderful. In fact I have beef stroganoff on this upcoming weeks menu.
That wine; I must try that. Only thing I wish is that some of the wines like this would come in what they call 'pony' size. Hubby isn't much of a wine drinker and
I'm unable to drink a whole bottle myself. Usually a 1/2 glass is a great plenty for me to drink at one time.
Hobart looks like he could care less on what's going on around him. I think cats really don't care how they sleep as long as they get their 'cat' nap in. Cats lay in the weirdest positions sometimes.

Have a wonderful and enjoyable week.

    1. It's a good meal (stroganoff) during cold time of year, ha. Heck we wished there would be smaller sizes too, we never finish a bottle, usually 1/2 a bottle between us, sometimes less than that. Maybe the cats have been dipping into the wine and they are very relaxed? HA!

Oh, if only we could fully relax like Hobart does ... He is draped like a black furry doily on that couch! LOL
